Frequently asked questions

  1. What are your fees?

Our billing rate is $185 per hour and that includes specialty therapeutic services. We offer a self-pay discount rate of $150 for those paying in cash.

  2. Do you charge extra for things like EMDR?

Absolutely not. All of our speciality services are available for any session, and never at any additional extra cost

  3. Can my partner or parent join me for a session? Does it come at an extra cost?

With a Release of Information (ROI) on file, we will gladly see you and your family members for therapy. For issues specifically relating to family conflict, including a family member or partner is encouraged and never required.

  4. What is your cancellation/late policy?

We are sympathetic to the reality that life happens sometimes, so we offer a generous cancellation policy of 24 hours prior to scheduled appointment time without fee. Those who forget or fail to attend their scheduled appointment without a documented and verifiable medical or legal reason are still subject to the total cost of the session.

  5. What should I do if I am in crisis and need to see someone immediately?

Without question, call 9-1-1 or 512-472-4357 (512-PES-4357) if you are in a state of emergency. PES stands for “Psychiatric Emergency Services” of Austin.

  6. How long are the sessions?

At this time, we offer 53 minute sessions only. This gives us time to review your notes from last time and document our session from the current time, while giving us adequate space to properly prepare for our next client (or you!)

  7. What can I expect in my first session?

Our first session is our ‘get to know you’ opportunity. We want to thoroughly understand your history and presenting problem, and then create a treatment plan for that particular problem. What are your presenting issues or symptoms? What are your goals? Mindfully consider your motive for seeking therapy, we are ready to work with you.

  8. I need an ESA letter for my pet. Can I get that from you?

Absolutely. All we need is documentation that your animal has been trained accordingly as a service animal, or that you are adopting an animal that has already been trained to be an ESA or TA. With this documentation, we will provide you with a letter at no extra charge.

  9. I may need to subpoena you for a court case. What are your fees for summoning you to court?

We recognize that we may be needed in court proceedings. We must be respectful to all of our clients and the practice from whom we are borrowing space, so please inquire about these rates privately during our sessions.

  10. I live In a different state, can i still see you?

We are licensed in both Texas and Colorado, so we are able to provide teletherapy options to anyone living anywhere in either state.
